History of Italian language

Students become acquainted with the periods of the history of the Italian language and its development from the period of the Vulgar Latin and of the first Italian documents to the present day. An overview of the periods of the history of Italian and the analysis of the texts form different periods will help improve students' understanding of the relationship between language and extralinguistic factors, such as historical, social and cultural circumstances in which language is formed.
